You can't go spectator and see other players ?  I'm not sure that all ISS can do it or just admins , better is to let Giampaolo answer you .

But it would be a good idea to give you admin rights... is my opinion ;-)

Some players like that Ennio Moricone music we can hear on server .

For those who don't like it , there is a simple solution to disable it. It just disables the background music , others sounds are still activated

I still use Windows 7 :  Go to PROGRAM FILES => ACTIVISION => CALL OF DUTY 4 - MODERN WARFARE => MILES => rename file MSSMP3.ASI in MSSMP3.BAK

Start game , music is disabled.

If you want to re-activate the music, rename again MSSMP3.BAK in MSSMP3.ASI

Casterdon , if i have well understood what you say , it is not a problem , the gold color is only visible for you . All other players see white colour . It is normal , i have same .

Had it this way for months, will not work for me, connot get rid of the gold colour, steam say it is activision problem.

Here the way how to add colours in your name in COD4

You must first connect STEAM

In the settings of name you must add symbol ^ and a number corresponding to the colour you want 

Here are the numbers :

^1 = Red
^2 = Green
^3 = Yellow
^4 = Blue
^5 = Cyan
^6 = pink/Magenta
^7 = White
^0 = Black

So for example for [ISS] SEAWOLF  , you put following name in STEAM => ^7[^2I^7S^1S^7]^4S^7EAWOL^1F

The tag [ISS] has italian colours ( for all ISS members ) and In SEAWOLF , the S is blue , EAWOL is white and F is red

If you have problems , feel free to ask me !!

When you want to play , first you must connect STEAM , and only when STEAM is open , you connect COD4

Cod4x is back up and running

Don't let it worry you mate, its a great server with great maps.

Please explain more Thumper, basic install of what, cod4 , cod4x !!!! help should be at hand from myself or others mate.

What will be alternative to CODX? Also I'm in need of help with tech for basic installs (I'm 70 & need my hand held) 

this will be a problem for updates. will bring fewer players. let's hope they are fixing the site and that's it. but it worries me
